Dyaus, also known as Dyauspitar, was the Rigvedic god of the sky and Heaven. He represented the common Indo-European sky father-archetype, with Prithvi being his earth-wife (similar to the Greek Gaea and Uranus or Mesopotamian Anu and Ki).
